Original  lithograph  from one of the rarest larger folio Naturhistorische Bilder Gallerie aus dem Thierreiche a hand-coloured lithograph ,published 1813.  Page size  350 x 420 mm. life-like hand-colored lithographs are from the work entitled Naturhistorische Bilder Gallerie aus dem Theirreiche lithographed by Karl Joseph Brodtmann.  These prints, from the first edition of the work, were published by the author c1816.  Swiss-born Brodtmann was an expert in his field, known as one of the most accomplished lithographers of his time, and since.  The detail in these prints is beautiful which is only enhanced by the hand-coloring.  Brodtmann's talents were also a part of several works by Heinrich Rudolf Schinz.  They are on woven, watermarked paper  ( an odd incomplete squiggle) of large folio £185 inc light soiling soft creases (iron)
