I have combined on here chromolithographs from three sources as they all often published the same images but in differing years. They will be identified if possible

Originally issued as a periodical which was completed at 17 volumes in 1903 with 813 plates, it remains one of the greatest and most comprehensive sets of prints of orchid species from the Victorian era. Linden travelled extensively finding over 1100 species of orchids and importing them to Belgium for cultivation. He founded a nursery in Brussels with his son and published Lindenia. Lindens research and findings revolutionized the cultivation of orchids in Europe. The chromolithographs were printed by some of the best botanical lithographs of the time including Severeyns and De Pannemaeker after the work of Alfred Goosen and others

Ghent, Belgium in 1854, with 2 chromolithographed plates
with tissue guards each month. L’Illustration Horticole
although founded by Jean Jules Linden (1817 – 1898) became a
collaborative effort of many great horticulturists and field
botanists of the day A monthly horticultural review
introducing the most notable plants and flowers; both prize-
winning specimens and newly discovered plants from the far
reaches of the globe, brought forth to Europe for taxonomy
and cultivation,especially showy-leaved plants and Orchids.
Produced under the direction of Jean Jules Linden, Lucien
Linden and Emile Rodigas, and in collaboration with eminent
botanists and horticulturists, this monthly magazine
contains two glorious folio-sized chromolithographed plates.
Illustrations were by by A. Goossens, chromolithograph by P.
De Pannemaeker making it a colour fast expensive form of
printing Plants such as orchids, camellias, roses and leafy
plants such as ferns and palm trees were represented. These
are hand finished colour lithographs where each layer was
applied with key stoned limestone plates called lithographs;
a very laborious antique printing method. Then finished
generally with water colouring and gum Arabic, details by
hand. They are actually cheaper than the inferior copies
that will fade These are shown together as there was some
overlap many of the Horticole illustrations were by or
copied from Van Houtte but are cheaper when not indicated
with his name ! ** These come in two sizes the large rarest
one is 26x33cm plus good margins with a few double and the
smaller 1873 is 260 x 180cm
