Antique copper engraving p ublished as the Act directs, 1811 or 1814 edition , from  either 'Cyclopedia; or, Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and Literature, Comprehending compiled by John Wilkes(1750-1810, of Milland House, Sussex)  or the earlier version published 1811 and later sold as part of Gilbert's Atlas of the Earth  ie same pics sold in two formats but identical  . . . .an important 19th Century encyclopaedia which was regarded by some as subversive when it first appeared. It was edited by Revd. Abraham Rees (1743–1825)..The majority of the engravings were produced by Sydenham Edwards (artist) and by engravers such as Wilson Lowry & John Farey, Jr.& John  Scott . Published by Longman,Hurst Rees Orme & Brown, Paternoster Row London . Page size 21 x 27 cm unmounted £18
