Original London Transport poster by Vera Willoughby, 1935,Véra Willoughby (1870–1939) was a watercolour painter and poster designer. She was born in Hungary in 1870. She studied at Slade School of Fine Artin Bloomsbury, Central London and designed posters for the London public transit system from 1928 thru 1935. Published by London Transport. Lot-O-fun Comic with its eight pages of Pip Martin and George Davey art appeared 17th March 1906. The first issue saw the appearance of 'The Delusions of Dreamy Daniel' which followed the unbelievable exploits of a character called Daniel who would experience fantastic adventures only to wake up at the end of the strip and realise that it was all just a dream. Other stories in Lot-O-Fun included 'Patriotic Paul' by H. O'Neil and 'Winkle & Binkle Minor' by Entwistle'. She was a popular star of Mack Sennett's Keystone Studiosand is noted as one of the film industry's first female screenwriters, producers and directors.Onscreen she co-starred in commercially successful films with Charlie Chaplin and Roscoe Arbuckle more than a dozen times each, occasionally writing and directing movies featuring Chaplin as her leading man.
